Wang Yuji: Xie Lingya’s maternal uncle; only remaining member of Baoyang Temple and has been running it for over 10 years; wielded the Three Treasures Sword; died and passed the temple to Xie Lingya

Zhang Daoting: a certified Taoist priest who is really poor and had been working at the tourist attraction Longhu Scenic Area’ is an orphan and became a taoist priest at 18; forced to leave his temple because they couldn’t afford to feed him anymore; a jack of all trades; donates most of his wage to his orphanage; 26 years old; first priest of Baoyang Temple; has gained the title 'Kind Hearted Taoist Priest' from the media;

Wang Yongyi: tea enthusiast; didn’t believe in taoism, but his mother does

Mao Zhengqing: priest of Taihe Temple; a member of the management committee of Taihe Temple (like an Elder); was rescued by Xie Lingya when trying to purify a construction site

Ding Aima: the man who died falling out the window at the construction site; has turned into a ghost and is too afraid of dying (again) to pass on

Chen Mo: white-collar worker at a nearby company; dissed the Venerable Founder Wang’s statue and has met with bad luck which only stopped after he apologized, lit incense and prayed to Venerable Wang; is now a believer; nickname is 'Karen' 

Chen Zui: Chen Mo's younger brother; 17 years old

Cheng Jie: Xie Lingya’s senior in University; married Fun Fang; found a statue of a one-legged Wutong and brought it home with him and is now being haunted by it

Fun Fang: married Cheng Jie; is being haunted by a one-legged Wutong

Police Officer Wang: patrols the area around Baoyang Temple

Yi Shui Mining Company: belongs to the state-owned Queshan Mining Group located in the provincial capital; owned several mines in Niuyang; wants a priest of Baoyang to look at their feng shui and perform a ceremony; have been having troubles because they recently added a new building; heard about the ghost festival ceremony; a worker died in a mining shaft, weird things started in the shaft and Manager Bai in the office saw a ghost who told him to hold a three day cleansing and fell ill

Pokeweed spirit: found on the mountain during a storm; naturally occurring; was trying to cultivate to the next level but became scared stiff by the thunderstorm; seems to be a fan of Xie Lingya

Headmaster Mi: Headmaster of Quedong College; also known as Old Man Mi

Director Gao: has big earlobes and facial features indicating good luck, but surrounded by death omens; an alumnus of Quedong College; someone is trying to kill him

Zhang Xiao: The Gao's neighbor; confessed to Ah Hui twice

Abbot Chen Sansheng: Abbot of Taihe Temple; referred Wang Yuji to be an abbot of a large temple, but he declined

Mu Shan: one of Xie Lingya's classmates

Yue Tong: one of Xie Lingya's classmates; possessed

Xiao Bai: One of Xie Lingya's classmates
 
Hou Xuzhong: a new taoist priest at Baoyang Temple; can interpret fortune sticks
 
Liu Bohe: a new taoist priest at Baoyang Temple; proficient in liturgy performance
 
Willow spirit: another whispering sprite; unlike Pokeweed, is made of a willow branch that is then carved and imbued with the spirit of a child who has died in unnatural circumstances; was being worn by a man in a baseball cap who was traveling to Quedong

Tang Qi: referred by Chen Sansheng to Shi Changxuan; recently acquired a large piece of land with hotsprings but found bones when digging; wants to hire someone for feng shui

Baoyang Temple: dedicated to Spirit Official Wang, the Supreme Protector God of Taoism; also called Numinous Official Wang

Celestial Master Zhang: founded the Zheng Yi Sect; left three items in the mortal world:
1. The San Wu Evil Slaying Twin Sword: venerated by descendants
2. The Yangpingzhi Dougong Seal: in the nation’s museum
3. A fingernail: lost

Boshan Mountain: people have seen the mountain light up in ghostly lights and the mountain is a route that the Underworld soldiers took when escorting the spirits of the dead
