Arrow - Season 6, Episode 14 & 15

It was only a matter of time until the two fractured halves of Team Arrow came to blows, especially after Earth 2's Laurel, aka Black Siren, killed Dinah's fella Vincent. Things were further complicated when it was revealed that Dinah had cleaned out Cayden James's bank account of the $70 million Mayor Oliver Queen had given him not to blow up the city! With the city about to shut down, the mission was 'find Laurel' but Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), sure that this Laurel could come good like his girl, had spirited her away to some cabin. There was the usual huff and puff as the two teams squared up to each other. "I will never let you cross that line," Ollie told Dinah while Rene goaded Oliver later, saying that he always resorted to violence. "You're not a hero, you're a thug." A bit rich coming from Wild Dog but his plan was to sneak a listening device/tracker onto Ollie which they used to follow Ollie, Diggle and Felicity when they found out Quentin had Laurel. Cue a big fight in the woods with lots of people flying and rolling about. Lots of lines were crossed (one character mentioned that every few minutes) from Curtis disabling Diggle's arm chip turning him all wobbly again, to Ollie beating Rene so badly he had to be hospitalised. Dinah had Laurel at her mercy so of course she allowed Curtis to talk her out of killing with the usual platitudes until Laurel hoodwinked them and escaped! As for Team Arrow? Things look bad. "We're done," Curtis tells Diggle and Felicity they try to find out how Rene is. Tough words, well, until they all team up again in the finale in about six or seven episodes' time.
In episode 15 we got the bonus of Willa Holland's Thea back in her Speedy outfit as her ex Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) needed the team's help. He'd been snatched by the crooked part of the SCPD working for Diaz. Much of the episode revolved around the team trying, and failing, to rescue the former Speedy until Black Siren told them where he was being kept in an abandoned casino. Laurel had returned claiming to be the dead Laurel to the press, putting the team in a bit of a bind. Does Laurel really want to turn over a new leaf? When she's snatched from the hospital and taken to Diaz it looks like her number could be up. Diaz is a big believer in loyalty and mentions family more than Vin Diesel in a Fast and Furious movie. "I'm building a family," he tells her. "I see all, I hear all, I control it all." Based on Laurel's intelligence, the Arrow, Speedy and Spartan raid the casino and we got another very well staged fight sequence. The plots may have taken a downturn but the action choreography has really picked up this year. Ollie and co rescue Roy and Thea drives him away before the cops arrive, Diaz and Anatoly being arrested, though no doubt later to be freed by the crooked cops, including Captain Hill. Ollie went to thank Laurel for helping them but just as we thought we could start to trust the Black Siren she received a text from Diaz saying 'well done'. Lucky Laurel had her phone on her as a message flashing up 'well done' with Diaz's name on it might have been hard to explain had Quentin picked it up. So Roy's back, at least for now, and he got a celebratory leg over with Speedy (let's hope they don't live up to that nickname) while a League of Assassin flunky watched on (ewww) and reported: "I've located the heir of R'as al Ghul." There's some resentment simmering between Ollie and the Dig too, Spartan asking why it's been two months since his injury was cured yet Ollie won't give him back the hood. Will Ollie lose all his friends?
