If you have identified that your ecig vape pen is no longer charging up,
then the first thing you will need to look into is the USB charger. There are
small metal pins inside the USB socket and the plug that goes into your actual
ecig. If these become dirty, eg remains of ejuice on the metal contacts or dust
and dirt from normal use, this will interfere with providing a good electrical
connection. This can also cause charging problems. Its advisable that you try
cleaning your ecig vape charger for first point of action before
troubleshooting further. If cleaning it doesn't work, try a different mains to
USB wall plug or a different battery.
1) Disconnect the actual ecig charger from the mains plug. Turn it off from
the mains and remove the plug from the wall socket. So you should now have the
plug and the ecig charging wire in your hands.
2) To clean the metal contacts without damaging then, you need a cotton bud
also known as a q tip and some rubbing alcohol. You can't use water because it
will not evaporate and it will make the metal pins rust.
3) Pour a few drops of rubbing alcohol onto one side of the cotton bud.
Gently place this inside the USB connector and go over the four pins. Now will
the other clean side wipe them. You will also need to clean the other connector
that goes into the ecig. Repeat the same procedure.
4) Allow the cable to sit for a minute so the rubbing alcohol evaporates
into the air and the liquid dries off the metal pins. Then you can go ahead
plug it back into the mains and see if your ecig charging problems are now
fixed.
